About us
Evans & Partners are a firm of Chartered Accountants which started in Bristol in 1943. We employ 25 staff with our main office in Kingswood and a second branch in Bedminster. The firm acts for over 1000 clients of all sizes and types.
Our staff have been with us, on average, an amazing 25 years and have a wealth of experience and expertise among them. We also have a very large number of clients who have been with us for many years, a few who joined when we started in 1943!
Oliver Evans, one of the partners, is the 3rd generation of the Evans Family to run the firm.
We believe there's more to accountancy than short term measures designed to placate the tax man and bank manager. It is our policy to offer helpful, friendly, expert advice to ensure your peace of mind and the success of your business.

Partners
Martin Evans FCA 
Professional:
Martin's own specialisations are in dealing with company valuations and reorganisations, tax investigation and advising about 75 dentists. Accounting for Dentists.
He was educated at Bristol Grammar School and was a student with Grace Derbyshire & Todd and Thompson Mclintock before joining his father's practice in 1970.
Personal:
Martin is a member and past President of Kingswood Rotary and spends most of his spare time with one of his 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Martin is married to Suzanne and recently they celebrated their Ruby Wedding.
Derek Morland BSc FCA 
Professional:
Derek grew up in Rochdale and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Brighton after gaining a degree at Sussex before moving to Bristol. He worked at Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) before joining Evans & Partners in 1982, becoming a partner in 1986. Derek leads the audit work at the firm, as well as dealing with business advice and tax investigations.
Personal:
Out of the office Derek enjoys dinghy sailing, and spends time with his family.

Olly Evans ACA 
Professional:
Olly trained at Evans & Partners at the end of the 1980’s before going off to work with KPMG and then Ernst & Young. He moved into management consultancy for ten years before rejoining Evans & Partners as partner in 2006.
As well as his professional accountancy qualifications Olly has a wealth of experience advising businesses how to operate more efficiently and effectively. His particular interest is fast growing owner managed businesses.
Personal:
Olly enjoyed skiing and sailing before finding that all of his spare time was taken up with his young family. He lives on an island in the River Avon near Bristol.

Managers
Peter Stock
Professional:
Pete is the firm's tax manager, specialising in personal taxation.
He was educated at Colston’s Boys school. In 1966 he started work for what was then the Westminster Bank, in their tax department. After a spell with the Inland Revenue, during which he gained promotion to Tax Officer (Higher grade), he joined Evans and Partners in 1973. He became tax manager in 1979.
Personal:
Pete is a tenor soloist. He also enjoys acting with St Paul’s Players of Southville. He is a Life Member of Gloucestershire CCC and a lifelong supporter of Bristol Rovers FC. He is also a member of Broadmead Baptist Church. He enjoys spending time with his three children and five grandchildren.

Leslie Willcox
Professional:
Leslie is a chartered certified accountant and has worked at Evans & Partners for 37 years. He has experience in almost every aspect of accountancy and taxation matters affecting the life of a small or medium sized business.
Colin Sainsbury
Professional:
Colin joined Evans & Partners in 1974 from the Bristol & West Building Society. He became manager of the Bedminster Office when it opened in 1982 and deals with all aspects of Self Employment.
Accounting professionals
Faye Barrett
Professional:
Faye’s role includes the preparation of individual and company accounts. She also prepares books for VAT purposes and company taxation.
Faye is a qualified ACCA & AAT Accountant and has been with Evans & Partners since November 1999.
Personal:
Faye is married to Mark and they celebrated their third baby boy in May 2009. When Faye is not busy playing with her boys she enjoys watching football and going to concerts.
Helen Brett
Professional:
Helen joined the firm in March 2008 and is mainly involved with the preparation of accounts and book-keeping.
She is a Fellow of the International Association of Book-Keepers and has gained the IAB Level 3 Diploma in Computerised Book-keeping.

Tim Carr
Professional:
Tim's own specialisations are in computer software and
hardware, providing IT support to the firm's staff and
clients.
He graduated at Bristol University before joining the
firm as a trainee accountant.
Kevin Dalby
Professional:
Kevin specialises in accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and owner-managed companies, and completion of personal and corporate tax returns.
He joined Evans & Partners straight from school in 1989.
Personal:
Kevin enjoys travel, playing poker and listening to/adding to his extensive collection of heavy metal music.
Tina Gibbons
Professional:
Tina is based at the Bedminster Office where she deals mainly with sole traders & partnerships. She was educated at Kingswood Grammar School and joined the firm in 1975.
Personal:
Tina is married to Alan, and her hobbies are playing badminton and gardening.
Christine Harrison
Professional:
Christine is a long standing employee of Evans & Partners having been with the firm since 1979. She is experienced in all areas of accountancy and is responsible for the preparation of accounts and bookkeeping for small to medium businesses.
Colin Lynes
Professional:
Colin specialises in company accounts, tax and audit.
Before joining Evans & Partners in 1989 he spent fourteen years in research and development with a paper and packaging group followed by a period of self employment (farming) and four years running a small chemical company.
He has a degree in business studies and is a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Dave Manley
Professional:
Dave’s main speciality is dealing with sole traders and partnerships. He was educated at Kingswood Grammar School and joined the firm in 1972 after achieving his A levels. He became an Accounting Technician in 1982 (AAT) and also has an HNC in Business Studies.
Personal:
Married to Dawn, Dave has two children. His main interests are in the sporting area; watching football and cricket and playing Golf and league Cribbage.
Gary Weeks
Professional:
Gary is an experienced all rounder, mainly dealing with the accounts of small to medium individuals and companies and is responsible for the smooth running of a portfolio of over 100 clients.
He was educated at Kingswood Grammar School, is a fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and has been with Evans and Partners since 1971.
Personal:
Gary is married to Sue and his main interests are history, reading, holidays and cooking.
Heidi Miller
Professional:
Heidi joined the firm in August 1998. She is a qualified ACCA & AAT accountant.
Heidi is involved with the preparation of individual and company accounts. She also prepares books for VAT purposes & company taxation.
Personal:
Heidi is married to Jon and they have a 14 month old son and another baby on the way.

Deborah Sawyer
Professional:
Deborah has been with Evans and Partners for four years and has over 20 years experience in personal tax dealing with compliance work and tax advice.
Personal:
Deborah lists her interests as movies, cooking and history.
Andrea Monks
Professional:
Andrea specialises in personal taxation.
She was educated at Rose Green Grammar School and joined the tax department at Evans & Partners in October 1981.
Personal:
Andrea is involved with several local charitable organisations. She is married and has one daughter and enjoys watching all sports, especially football.
Payroll and Human Resources
Mark Barrett
Professional:
Mark supervises with the payroll bureau for Evans and Partners. This includes HR, general payroll and the Construction Industry.
He joined in 2002 following a similar position.
Personal:
Mark is married to Faye and they celebrated the birth of their third boy in May 2009. Due to this he has no time for any interests but if he did would like to be watching football, cricket or having a round of golf!

Jackie Hayes
Professional:
Jackie joined the business in October 2008 as Payroll
Assistant to Mark Barrett. She previously worked as
an audio typist before joining a payroll department in 2007.
Personal:
Jackie has two children and enjoys reading, socialising
with friends and watching Formula One racing.
Wealth Management
Carole Nicholls
Carole is qualified as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). She has served as a National President of the Personal Finance Society. Carole has written a number of books on the topic of Financial Planning and frequently lectures on the subject. She was recently a finalist in the IFA woman of the year award.

Sarah Chappell
Professional:
Sarah has worked as a Secretary since leaving college and has been with Evans & Partners for the past 18 years.
Personal:
Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, holidays, reading and swimming.
Hilary Tose
Professional:
Hilary has worked as a secretary since leaving school and has been with Evans & Partners since 2003.
Personal:
Hilary is married and has a grown up son. Her interests include travel and reading.
Pat Reeves
Pat runs reception and in between answering the
phone and dealing with the post she also runs credit control.
Marketing
Angela Evans
Professional:
Angela organises the sales and marketing activity for the firm, as well as arranging client events.
She gained a Degree in English and French at Southampton University. Previously she worked for 2 scientific publishing houses in the marketing department and as their European Sales Manager
She has a WSET Diploma in Wine and has worked in the wine trade for 6 years.
Personal:
Angela is married to Olly Evans and they have two young children who keep them very busy. She loves travel and all things food and wine related.
