If any clients are struggling to file their accounts, as a result of the impact of COVID-19, then it is possible to apply for a 3-month extension.
From today (25 March 2020), you will be able to make an application through a fast-tracked online system which should take 15 minutes to complete.
Those citing issues around COVID-19 will be automatically and immediately granted an extension.
However, you can’t just be late, you must apply to Companies House for the extension.
If you do not apply and your accounts are filed late, an automatic penalty will be imposed.
